One year ago today this sweet, shy looking puppy rescued me. 2014 was a tough
year for me and Jada was my ray of sunshine. Jada came from All Sato Rescue, a
wonderful rescue group in Puerto Rico I had been working with for years since I
started fostering my Chantal.
Jada is a beautiful boxer mix. I have always kept in touch with ASR and when
I mentioned I was ready for another dog they told me about a group of puppies
that they were flying to the US, specifically about Jada. Jada has a severe
heart condition and her life expectancy is about 3-6 years, although I plan on
proving them wrong. Jada is on a beta blocker given twice a day and with her
Walgreens insurance card her medication is only $8 every two months. She is a
normal active little pup who enjoys play group and daycare and because she tires
easy from play she knows when she needs a break and takes one. My little baby
is super smart!! My fabulous friend Twig tried to convince me to take one of
the healthy puppies but I wouldn't hear of it. I wanted Jada even before I saw
pictures of her. When my daughter and I went to meet her we knew we weren't
leaving without her. The two of them are so bonded it’s amazing.
If you’re looking to add a new fur baby to your home please look to your
shelters and rescue groups. These sweet special needs pups will provide as much
love as any “healthy” pup you’re looking for and remember there are no
guarantees when you purchase a dog from a breeder or a healthy pup from a
shelter.
I would love it if you all would go to the All Sato Rescue Facebook page
and show some love for the amazing group by liking and inviting your friends to
like them as well.
Animal lovers, tell me about your special baby.
Irene
