Today I received a blessing. I’m thankful for another day, for another amazing birthday. Every day I’m thankful and grateful for what I’ve received – the good, the bad and the ugly

I learned a long time ago that life is too short. 11 years ago I realized that tomorrow is not promised so live your life today. I had an ectopic pregnancy and during my second IVF attempt I suffered a TIA – a Transient Ischemic Attack which is a mini stroke. While in the hospital they also found I had a PFO – Patent Foramen Ovale, a hole in the heart that didn’t close the way it should after birth. I never had any lasting effects from the stroke and for that I’m blessed and thankful. I knew the signs of a heart attack but not a stroke. I was considered healthy and used to work out all the time. Many times I used to wonder what my purpose was

After a long year of meeting with a great team of doctors to find out why I had the TIA they finally came up with a safe plan for another round of IVF. After a successful round and three years later, I finally had my miracle baby

When you look at my picture you will see a fighter, a stroke survivor, a Mami to a miracle baby, a single Mami like the phoenix rising from the flames as a winner, beating all life challenges and defeating hard times. The phoenix is a symbol of rebirth from the ashes of the past, and it also represents the victory of life over death. I’m here to help those who are struggling, who may not understand their struggles and their journey and to let them know there is light and we all have a purpose
